Several years ago, a Mentor challenged me to prepare a list my "wants." I did that and "Freedom" was at the top of the list. I thought that was easy enough and displayed the list proudly.
As I thought about the list and noticed commentary about "Freedom", I realized that term was more complicated than I first thought!
The first question for myself was "What did Freedom mean to me and what kind of Freedom was I looking for? My first thought was Financial Freedom. After considering that for a short time, I realized I'd not considered many other Freedoms that are important to me such as Freedom related to religion, movement, occupation, voting, etc. and many others!
Over the past two years, I've realized how fortunate I am to have been born in the U.S. AND not a country goverened by a dictator. I've had a serious allergic reaction to decisions made by State Governors thinking they have the power to determine which businesses/employees are essential and what mandates they can declare, where I can go and when.
I never realized how much Freedom was important to me until the dictators showed up! I'm hopeful we're getting past the belief that government employees know more about Leading a business than Entrepreneurs, applying medication than physicians and on and on!
What about you?
How are you thinking about all of your Freedoms?
How often do you express Gratefulness about your Freedoms?
How are you taking Onership to protect your Freedoms?
